According to her, the first sign of the problem was a statement by civil society organizations that drew attention to the lack of adequate public discussion of the new Civil Code, particularly with regard to civil partnerships. After that, she and the Ukrainian Women’s Congress analyzed draft law No. 14394 and concluded that a number of its provisions needed serious revision and public rethinking, especially regarding the rights of women, children, and family relations.
