This analytical document provides a comprehensive study of the current state of Ukraine’s anti-discrimination legislation, focusing on identifying systemic shortcomings and developing strategic directions for its improvement. The report offers a detailed analysis of gaps in the existing Law of Ukraine ‘On Principles of Prevention and Combating Discrimination in Ukraine,’ specifically regarding the definition of forms of discrimination, judicial protection mechanisms, and the powers of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights. Special attention is paid to the necessity of harmonizing national norms with European Union law, expanding the list of protected characteristics, and introducing effective sanctions for violations.
