President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Vitaliy Makhinchuk and Maksym Savyuk as members of the High Council of Justice. Thus, the High Council of Justice now consists of 17 members.
Vitaliy Makhinchuk is a Doctor of Law, Professor, Deputy Director for Research at the F.G. Burchak Private Law and Entrepreneurship Research Institute, and an Honored Lawyer of Ukraine. Maksym Savyuk is a detective at the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine who has worked in the justice system for over 10 years. These appointments occurred after thorough vetting by the Ethics Council and represent an important step in reforming Ukraine’s judicial system in accordance with European integration requirements.
